Chantal is a senior People & Culture leader and strategic advisor who partners with boards and executives to navigate people & culture risk, strengthen organisational performance, build capability and be future-ready. She brings extensive executive leadership and advisory experience across transformation, organisational performance, governance and employment matters. With a systems-thinking approach, she supports leaders to align people, operating models, leadership and capability with strategic priorities – translating strategy into action, realising efficiencies, and driving performance.
Chantal has held senior leadership and advisory roles across some of Aotearoa's largest operational organisations, including Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, New Zealand Police, New Zealand intelligence and security agencies, and the New Zealand Defence Force. Most recently, she was Group Head – Toi Tangata (Chief People Officer) for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Group, providing executive People & Culture leadership across the tribal organisation and its $2 billion commercial enterprise.
With a background in law, executive leadership, and military service as a commissioned officer, Chantal offers strategic perspective, commercial pragmatism and disciplined execution. She brings clarity to sensitive and high-consequence situations, providing grounded support to navigate complexity, assess and mitigate organisational risk, and translate organisational challenges into practical, actionable solutions.
