Paul is a great believer in ‘better people make a better world.’ Making a difference to people’s lives and making businesses more successful is the thing that motivates Paul the most.
Prior to joining Intepeople in 2005, Paul's previous experience included Director, General Management and Senior Management positions in the telecommunications, health, banking and financial services, energy and government sectors in New Zealand. As well as being Intepeople’s Managing Director, Paul is the Chair of the Nelson Building Society.
As an experienced Human Resources practitioner with qualifications and experience in law, business and industrial relations, Paul brings a strong employment law background, people management and commercial experience to the Intepeople consultancy team. Paul has been at the forefront of introducing leading edge organisation change programmes into the corporate world and specialises in working with senior management and Boards of Directors in the areas of executive/management coaching, business strategy, HR strategy, organisation design, restructuring and business performance improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and culture change.
Having been a legal and industrial advocate for the NZ Employers Federation and representing many companies in the private and public sector, Paul has the unique ability to traverse all the various disciplines of HR at both the strategic and operational levels, weaving the people asset strategies into business strategies, ensuring there is strong commercial alignment and that outcomes are business focused.
Paul believes that his experience and focus on business success rather than HR per se, combined with his ability to distil complex people issues into simple and practical business solutions is a point of difference he offers to clients.
